About Bomet-Central Constituency

The Bomet Central Constituency is one of the five constituencies in Bomet County. It was established for the 2013 elections after being carved out of the famous and the larger Bomet Constituency. As per the NG-CDF Act 2015, the Constituency is entitled to an allocation of development funds. The two hundred and ninety (290) constituencies in Kenya receive an allocation of at least 2.5% of the national budget as a national government fund.

The Constituency lies between Latitudes 0.776S, 35.346N and 1°50 South and Longitude 35 east and 1.61 N and it covers an area of 261.50 square kilometers and has a population of 126,520.

The current member of parliament is Hon. Richard Cheruiyot Kilel.
